So apparently Obama is addressing the nation tonight. The following link provided by my coworker should make it a bit more interesting...

First things first: an apology.
To anyone still reading: I apologize for the gap in posts. Especially to Aunt Pam, since I told her I would update it last November. Pretty pathetic on my part.
When I first started this thing, I made a conscious effort to write without regards to readership. At the time, I didn't really think anyone would actually be reading besides my immediate family. I was blown away once I realized that other people actually cared to read. It really is a huge motivator when I get to know about the people with whom I'm communicating with.
So, when Lora Bingham kindly reminded me recently that the blog was woefully dormant, it created the perfect storm of personal guilt, prodding, and a little spare time that spurred me to action tonight.
Now.....where should I start? I'd like to take it back 5 months and pick up right where I left off, but that wouldn't be feasible. I'm feelin random bullets right now....

I'll try better this go 'round to keep things fresh.....maybe with some specific stories in the future rather than the shotgun spread of random bullets (I wish that pun was intentional).
Love,
Kirby

- I moved to Washington, DC in mid October 2008. I really like it.
- I live in a 4 bedroom row house w/ 3 guys from Wake Forest, 2 of which are at or a little older than turner's age, 1 of which is my age. I met them on craigslist. They're good people. We have fun.
- We live on "S" Street NW (between "R" and "T") which is in the northwest quadrant of the District of Columbia, and it's been pretty entertaining seeing the variations of this street name on some of my mail. One letter Justin Bell sent me was addressed to "5th" St NW, and another letter I received was addressed to "South" Street NW. They both got here (obviously).
- Turner, Caroline, Mitchell, Lauren (Mitchell's gf), and I all attended the inauguration. It was really cool. I'm glad I got to experience it with them. However, I don't want to ever deal with a crowd that big again. It was extremely cold as well.

- I have a broken finger right now from playing football 2 weeks ago. It hurts to type. It is not healing as fast as I would like either.

- My room is only 50% unpacked, and I've been here for 4 months so far. There's just no time.
- I like NASCAR, and I'm not afraid to say it on the internet, Kyle Stribling. Not really an update, but I felt it needed to be said.
- My job is going well. I actually just returned today to DC from some meetings this week in Tampa Bay. Got to see Jamie and Katelyn while I was down there too, since my thursday flight was cancelled and they graciously put me up for the night. I'm already missing the weather.
- Rent is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS. Oh the palaces in Mississippi that could be had...
- I love my 1996 Toyota Tacoma more than I like receiving letters in the mail, but significantly less than my love for the South. Again, not an update...
- I had an awesome time over Christmas in MS.
I'll try better this go 'round to keep things fresh.....maybe with some specific stories in the future rather than the shotgun spread of random bullets (I wish that pun was intentional).

Kirby
